How to Enable Zenphi in Microsoft 365 (Grant Admin Consent)

Why do I need to do this?

Microsoft 365 protects organizational data by requiring approval before third-party applications can access tenant resources such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, or Microsoft Graph APIs.

When creating a Microsoft 365 connection, Zenphi requests the necessary Microsoft Graph permissions to perform the actions defined in your workflows (such as reading or writing SharePoint items, accessing lists, or retrieving basic profile information).

Depending on your organization’s security configuration, these permissions may require approval from a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator.

An administrator can:

1. Approve Access: Approve access for themselves only, or

2. Grant Consent: Grant consent on behalf of the organization, allowing other users to create similar connections without additional approval prompts.

Granting consent authorizes Zenphi’s registered application within your Microsoft Entra ID tenant. Zenphi only performs actions that are explicitly configured within your workflows and does not access data outside of the defined scope.

What if I am not an administrator?

If your organization restricts user consent for third-party applications, you may see a message indicating that administrator approval is required.

In this case, you can submit an approval request directly from the Microsoft consent screen. A Microsoft 365 Global Administrator can then review and approve the requested permissions.

This is a standard Microsoft security control and does not indicate an issue with the Zenphi application.

Note

Granting consent approves the requested Microsoft Graph permissions.

Access and usage remain governed by your organization’s:

  • Conditional Access policies
  • App assignment controls
  • SharePoint and Microsoft 365 permission settings
  • Role-based access controls

This is the fastest method and works even if the Zenphi app does not yet appear in your Enterprise Applications list.

1. Prepare the Link: Copy the URL below and replace {your-domain.com} with your organization’s primary domain (e.g., contoso.com or your Tenant ID).

https://login.microsoftonline.com/{your-domain.com}/adminconsent?client_id=7d340025-2619-43f0-80d9-72f84e697d4c

2. Authorize: Paste the modified link into your browser while signed in as a Global Administrator.

3. Accept Permissions: A Microsoft popup will appear listing the permissions Zenphi requires. Click Accept.

Note

Once accepted, all users in your organization will be able to sign in to Zenphi immediately.

Method 2: The Manual Way (via Microsoft Entra Admin Center)

Use this method if you prefer to navigate through the Microsoft interface or if you are responding to a specific user request.

Step 1: Navigate to Enterprise Applications

1. Sign In: Log in to the (formerly Azure Active Directory).

2. Navigate: In the left navigation menu, go to Identity > Applications > Enterprise applications.

If a user has already attempted to sign in and was blocked, they can send a request for admin approval.

1. User Request (Context): When a user is blocked, they will see an Approval required screen where they can submit a justification. This generates the pending request you will approve.

2. Locate Requests: In the left sidebar (under Activity), click Admin consent requests.

3. Search: Look for Zenphi in the list and click on it.

4. Approve: In the details panel that opens on the right, click Review permissions and consent.

5. Accept Permissions: A Microsoft popup will appear listing the permissions Zenphi requires. Click Accept.

Step 3: Manually Add Zenphi (If No Request Exists)

If the Admin consent requests list is empty, you must add the app manually:

1. Return to List: Go back to All applications (from Step 1).

2. Search: Type Zenphi in the search bar.

Note

If the app is not found, please use Method 1 above to provision it.

3. Open App: Click on the Zenphi application to open its overview.

4. Permissions: In the left sidebar (under Security), click Permissions.

5. Grant: Click the blue button labeled Grant admin consent for [Your Company Name].
